In the February, 2014 issue of Shooting Illustrated, we told you about the Rosch Works SL1 Sight Light, which is a front sight with integrated flashlight for AR-15-pattern rifles (or any other rifle with a full rail).

A few weeks ago, Rosch Works contacted me with a new product they had coming out called the SLM1. This is the same idea as the SL1, only the sight ships with a 1-inch opening for any flashlight of that diameter. Your favorite light can be used as long as the tube is one inch and the outside housing is 1.25 inches. The SLM1 can be placed anywhere on the top rail (although you'd probably want to mount it as close to the end as possible for longest sight radius, of course).

The sight itself is a fairly standard front sight and includes an adjustment tool for elevation. Constructed of 7075 T6 aluminum and anodized in Type III hardcoat black, the sight will accept SureFire P2x, P3x and 6PX tactical lights as well as other one-inch diameter flashlights. Two allen wrenches are included, one to tighten the unit onto the rifle's rail, the other to adjust the front sight set-screw. The rear-facing edge of the sight is scored to reduce glare, a thoughtful touch found on much more expensive options. MSRP: $75, light not included.
