Unless shooters use a light and laser combo unit for their rifle, it isn't really feasible to have a separate light and laser units equipped on a single rifle. However, the Tactical Augmented Pressure Switch from Tactical Night Vision Company and Unity Tactical solves that issue.

While there are some combination units available on the market, such as the LiNQ system from Crimson Trace, some users prefer a different kind of setup with individual lights and lasers mounted in different areas on their firearm. The TAPS system allows users to further customize their laser-targeting setup and illumination rig through the use of separate leads that work back to a single pressure pad.

The TAPS pad features separate pressure switches for both a weaponlight and a laser, allowing users to select which option they want in an instant. The switches feature momentary on capabilities and have built-in ridges to differentiate between each system.

The system requires no aftermarket rail adaptors for use. Shooters can simply mount the system directly to any standard rifle rail, including M-Lok, KeyMod and Picatinny-rail options. The TAPS system comes standard with a SureFire light lead and a mil-spec Crane laser lead that fits all NATO-standard firearm lasers.

The pressure switch features a rubberized, durable housing that protects against abuse and the elements and is waterproof up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. The unit weighs in at 2.25 ounces with all of the attachment hardware. The unit comes in black and flat dark earth finishes, and the suggested retail price for the TAPS system is $145.
