Day Two at SHOT Show 2024 in Las Vegas, and I was tasked with finding five new and intriguing holsters. The array seems endless, but several companies have some pretty interesting offerings. I have also included a couple eye-catching pieces for my girlfriends!
Alien Gear Rapid Force Duty Holster
After a press trip a couple years ago to Idaho, during a blizzard, I toured the Buck Knives and Alien Gear factories, I was impressed and started watching Alien Gear for innovative new products and this year I was not disappointed. Alien Gear has launched the Rapid Force Level 3 Duty Holster with Axon compatibility and maximum trigger protection. Created with Alien Gear’s proprietary blend of high-impact polymer the Rapid Force is QD compatible and has a removable MRDS hood which covers the chosen optic.
You can choose from two colors, either matte black or tan, and will find the customizable release button sizes helpful for making this the best duty holster for you. MSRP is $115.88.
DeSantis Mean Streak
Maybe I have one and maybe I don’t, but DeSantis's version of a Mean Streak is an IWB (Inside-the-waistband) holster built from durable .08-inch-thick, pewter-grey Kydex and is adjustable for both cant and height. The edges have been hand-polished and built on precision CNC tooling. The Mean Streak also features a sweat guard and integrated “claw” to allow for a close fit keeping the gun tight against your body for deeper concealment.
The Mean Streak is available in both right and left-handed versions for many of the most popular concealment guns on the market and DeSantis is expanding this line to include more guns. MSRP is $59.99.
Galco Thunderclap Masterbilt Holster
Galco really understands well-made leather, and new in the Masterbilt premier-grade holster series.
When you want a special-occasion holster to wear with your best suit, this holster is fashioned out of premium steerhide and is lined and hand molded by master leather craftsmen. The reinforced mouth and belt tunnel, neutral cant fits belts up to 1½ inches wide and comes in black and tan, making it perfect to compliment your holster collection for many years to come. The Masterbilt series is the pinnacle of Galco’s unrival leather holster construction and has an MSRP of $249.
Dark Alley Denim Concealed Carry Jeans
Girlfriends, let’s be real, do we love having another thing around our waists? Most of us are really picky about added bulk, especially when we are concealing a firearm. There are several CC leggings on the market, but now there are some really cute CC jeans. Dark Alley designed these to simplify concealed carry. Created by a new mom who didn’t want anything to get in the way of her carrying her baby, two rear pockets discreetly conceal a small pistol for any body type with either a left or right handed kidney carry position. Angled and adjustable retention straps are made of genuine leather and offer dual snaps for a secure fit with most small to mid-sized firearms.
Smith & Wesson Carry on Backpack by Rugged Rare
Through the years, I have seen a LOT of concealment bags and love the innovation that goes into creating them. I stopped into the Rugged Rare booth and immediately zeroed in on the Smith & Wesson Carry on Backpack. Crafted with sturdy, but flexible waxed canvas, accented in leather, the concealment pocket is situated in the back of the bag. The interior is just as well intentioned with several compartments to keep your items organized and at the tip of your fingers. There is even an open mesh compartment for corralling small, loose items. A dedicated laptop sleeve keeps your 13- to 17-inch laptop safe and easily accessible. You will find this bag just as elegant and classy as I did, and it will serve you for many years.
