Springfield Armory brought the Mod.2 enhancements to its popular XD-S single-stack concealed-carry pistol for 2018, giving personal-defense-minded citizens a redesigned option in the company’s lineup that incorporates a thinner slide with more aggressive serrations for a more-solid grip.
One other notable feature on the new XD-S Mod.2 is the disappearance of the company’s branded GripZone ergonomics, though the gun still benefits from the telltale ergonomics pioneered by Springfield’s GripZone initiative.
