After the introduction of its Silent-SR suppressor, Ruger added to its suppressor capabilities with the addition of the new Silent-SR Integrally Suppressed Barrel (ISB), designed for use on the popular Ruger 10/22 Takedown rifle.

The new ISB is a separate barrel and forearm unit that is designed to attach quickly and easily to the receiver end of a Ruger 10/22 Takedown rifle. The ISB uses an induction-hardened breech and a cold-hammer-forged barrel to ensure return to zero when disassembled and reassembled.

The integral suppressor component is designed to reduce the report of the rifle down to 113.2 decibels while using standard-velocity .22LR ammunition. The company claims that the semi-auto report of the Silent-SR ISB is as quiet as a bolt-action rimfire rifle with a threaded suppressor. The ISB barrel measures 16.2 inches in overall length, with an effective barrel length of 10.62 inches, allowing for suppression while maintaining a standard barrel-length profile.

Other aspects of the ISB design include a pushed-cone baffle geometry that uses space underneath the barrel to to reduce the sound, ensuring maximum decibel reduction while leaving the bullet's travel through the barrel undisturbed.

For cleaning, users can simply detach the barrel from the rifle and remove an assembly screw using a 5/32 hex wrench. When the screw is loosened, then the six 17-4 stainless-steel baffles, spacers and front cap can be removed from the barrel's housing for easy cleaning.

The Ruger Silent-SR ISB features a Cerakote finish and is designed to come apart easily, even through thousands of fired rounds. The barrel weighs in at 2.6 pounds and retails at a suggested price of $629.
