Looking for a weaponlight that’s powerful, easy to activate and still leaves a little room in the ammo fund? Striker Concepts’ B.A.M.F.F. (what that stands for, we think you can piece together…) 10 offers 1,000 lumens in both floodlight and spotlight form (it’s a dual lamp system) in a device that can function as either a handheld light or a dedicated weaponlight.

In addition to functioning in two different ways, the BAMFF10 can also be powered in two different ways. There’s a rechargeable 18650 battery, with built-in micro-USB charging port, but also a 3-AAA-battery option as well, for times when you can’t be near an outlet. Either option yields 1,000 lumens on high, with a run time of 2.5 hours, and 200 lumens on low, for 7 hours. The BAMFF10 is also water- and impact resistant, and comes with two different strobe patterns (standard blinking and SOS).

In handheld form, the BAMFF10 has a pocket clip and a tailcap switch. It operates as expected, with multiple presses on the tailcap cycling the light through the various modes. It’s a little on the chunky side for a pocket handheld, though, so you’re more likely to use it in its other manner, as a dedicated weaponlight. Remove the pocket clip, attach the Picatinny rail mount, get on your rifle or shotgun, then screw in the pressure switch activation mechanism. Stick the switch to the handguard or foregrip with double-sided tape or hook-and-loop and you’re ready to go.

At an MSRP of $99.99, the BAMFF10 offers a lot of light for not a lot of money. It’s a little bigger and less-sleek than other units, but the money you’ll save will go a long way toward classes and ammo. And, in a pinch, you can take it off your carbine and take it camping, or toss it in your car’s glovebox for insurance on a long road trip. In any case, it’s another option for consideration, and “more options” is a good thing.
