New for 2021: Kimber Rapide (Black Ice) 1911 Pistol in 10 mm

It’s time for more new guns for 2021! Today we have the new Kimber Rapide (Black Ice) 1911 in 10 mm on the range. What’s neat about this gun is that it has stepped cocking serrations, lightening cuts on the slide, fiber-optic front and rear sights and comes in the potent 10 mm. G10 grips and a slightly beveled magazine well help hold the Rapide in the hand and facilitate faster reloads, respectively.

The Kimber Rapide (Black Ice) 1911 offers a two-tone finish the manufacturer calls “Kimpro,” offering a slight contrast between the frame and the slide. The 5-inch barrel is DLC coated, comes with a match-grade bushing and features a 1:16-inch, left-hand twist. Overall length is 8.7 inches, weight is 38 ounces and magazine capacity is 8 rounds in a proprietary Kimber magazine.

Between the slide lightening cuts, the overall weight and the 10 mm chambering, it’s easy to think the Kimber Rapide (Black Ice) 1911 might be a handful to shoot. Between the aggressive texturing on the frontstrap, the G10 grips and the excellent balance, it’s really quite controllable. If you’ve been looking for a platform for 10 mm, this is a great gun to investigate. Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that it looks pretty sweet, too.

MSRP on the Kimber Rapide (Black Ice) 1911 in 10 mm is $1,618. Should you be looking for extra magazines, a holster or magazine carrier, Kimber has partnered with several different manufacturers to offer one-stop shopping on its website. All items are custom-made for the individual pistols.
