The new CZ Custom A01-LD combines the renowned ergonomics of the CZ-75 with other performance-enhancing features, making it an ideal pistol for competition or range use. Built from scratch at the CZ Custom Shop in Mesa, AZ, around a hammer-forged, CNC-machined frame, the CZC A01-LD has a large and weighty dust cover, which helps control both recoil and muzzle rise. This prominent feature of the gun ensures that shooters lose no time in getting their sights back on target for a fast follow-up shot or a quick transition, aiding them in shaving seconds off their performance time.
Each CZC A01-LD features a deep beavertail grip, undercut trigger guard, raised 25 LPI checkering and an internal magwell. Both the hammer and the sear are directly pinned in the frame to ensure that the trigger pull is always consistent. These features, along with the increased weight of the frame, means that this CZC pistol is easy on felt recoil and easy to keep on target while still firing a full-power round.
The trigger is inspired by the same mechanism found on the renowned CZ-85 Combat pistol. The single-action trigger on the CZC A01-LD is a clean crisp 3- to 3.5-pound pull, and also has a very short reset, while the double action is 8 to 8.5 pounds.
The slide on the CZC A01-LD's is CNC-machined from 4140 bar stock and features front and rear serrations, a CZ Custom low-mount rear sight and a fiber-optic front sight. Topping everything off is a 4.925-inch match-grade bull barrel constructed from 416 stainless steel. Designed to use the increased-capacity magazines from the P-09/P-07/P-10 platform, the A01-LD ships with two 19-round P-09 magazines.
