Kansas State Highway Patrol (KSHP) has awarded a $277,000 contact to EOTech for the purchase of the company’s EXPS2-0 holographic sights. The optics, which feature a quick-release mount, will outfit the agency’s newly acquired Colt M4 Trooper carbines. The order is expected to be fulfilled in March.

“EOTech is very pleased the KSHP chose our optic, joining an immense, worldwide community of professional users who count on the speed, accuracy and reliability our holographic technology provides,” said Mark Cockman, vice president of Commercial and Law Enforcement Sales for EOTech. “We are confident that our products will enhance their capabilities and contribute in providing safety and security for the officers and their community.”

The EXPS2-0’s reticle is a 68-MOA ring and a 1-MOA dot reticle, providing both speed and accuracy. Brightness buttons on the side allow users to configure a magnifier if needed. Its adjustable, quick-detach mounting base provides immediate attachment and removal, while positioning the sight at a lower-third co-witness with iron sights.

The KHP order comes less than a year after L3Harris sold ownership of EOTech to American Holooptics, which is part of privately held Koucar Management based in Michigan. Other firearm- and defense-related firms in the parent company’s stable include Elite Defense and HEL Technologies.

EOTech is also currently under a five-year contract with USSOCOM to provide its holographic sights and G33 magnifiers for Special Forces use. Terms of that $26.3 million agreement began in 2019.

Based in Ann Arbor, MI, EOTech officially launched in 1995. The company was the first to develop and introduce a holographic weaponsight. In 1996, it debuted the system at the SHOT Show and four years later brought out a second generation of the optic that ultimately grew in popularity among enthusiasts under Bushnell’s HoloSight line.
