Hi Power Enhancements

A. Machined from solid 416 stainless steel bar stock heat-treated to a Rockwell hardness of 39 to 43 and boasting a tensile strength of 180,000 psi, Bar-Sto Precision Machine’s Browning Hi Power/SA-35 Semi-Fit Barrel features a 1:16-inch twist. The machining, boring and rifling processes are performed in-house to maintain critical, accuracy-enhancing tight tolerances and top-notch quality. Minor fitting is required, and the company offers its own optional gunsmithing services. MSRP: $240; barsto.com

B. A"Available for the SA-35 and certain Hi Power models, Novak LoMount Sights offer a rock-solid alternative for those looking for suitable self-defense options. Available configurations include elevation-adjustable models, plain-black, green or red fiber optics, tritium ampules or even a brass or 14-karat-gold front bead for high visibility. The company also offers a rear-sight notch that has been widened to .170 inch, which fosters faster target acquisition with more light visible on each side of the front blade. Each requires fitting by a gunsmith or the staff at Novak. MSRP: $34.95 (plain-black rear); $49.95 (brass-bead front); novaksights.com

C. Constructed from heat-treated carbon steel, ProMag Industries’ Browning (13) Rd Hi Power Magazine is an aftermarket option with the standard 13-round capacity and a corrosion-resistant black-oxide finish. A glass-filled-nylon follower ensures smooth feeding, while a chrome-silicone spring allows for long-term, fully loaded storage without losing tension. Verifying capacity is easy, thanks to two rear witness holes. The company also offers a 32-round variant. MSRP: $23.99; promagindustries.com

D. The Wilson Combat Custom-Tune Spring Kit, Browning Hi-Power is designed to easily and inexpensively improve your pistol’s action and function, while enhancing reliability across a wide variety of ammunition types. Each kit contains the springs made from high-tensile spring wire and includes a 26-pound mainspring/hammer spring, a firing-pin spring, an 18.5-pound extra-power recoil spring and a 12-pound reduced-power recoil spring. MSRP: $14.95; wilsoncombat.com

E. Available in two colors, Navidrex Browning HP/Rosewood Grips feature purchase-enhancing full-coverage, hand-cut 18 lpi checkering along with thumb and palm swells—each of which are designed to spread recoil across a greater area for enhanced comfort and control. Both panels are also relieved for compatibility with ambidextrous thumb safeties. They are also available in black Micarta. MSRP: $50; navidrexgrips.com
