Hi-Point Firearms introduced a new logo for 2019, giving the company a fresh, new look.

“We felt it was time to have a fresh, bold logo that is easily recognizable at a glance,” said Mike Strassell, new president and CEO of Hi-Point Firearms. “We want to show the company is moving forward with new products and ideas. Paired with our new slogan, ‘American Made, American Promise,’ the new logo helps to convey that Hi-Point is a solid, dependable brand that is here to stay.”

The company’s affordable guns, particularly its carbines in pistol chamberings, quickly became a staple at many sporting goods stores after Tom Deeb established the family-owned business 35 years ago. When he retired in 2016, Strassell—a longtime employee, designer/engineer of firearms for the company and Deeb’s close friend—took over the helm. All of the company’s guns are produced in the United States, Ohio specifically, where the company is headquartered and nearly every part is made in-house

Hi-Point also makes handguns, including an-as-yet-to-be named 17+1 pistol featuring a threaded barrel and improved grip frame safety unveiled during last month’s Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show. MSRP is expected to be around $225 when it’s released later this year.

The company’s blowback 9 mm C9 handgun, which has been available for some time, is the subject of a Shooting Illustrated 2,000-round torture test currently underway. At 600 rounds it’s suffered four stoppages, 75 percent of them in the first half of the test when new guns often require breaking in for reliability. After a thorough cleaning, the latest barrage of 300 yielded only a single stovepipe.

Hi-Point firearms carry a lifetime , no-questions-asked guarantee. “And lifetime means just that—free repairs for the life of the gun, whether you are the first owner, or the third,” the company explains on its website.
