Vudoo Gun Works is now shipping the first batch of their new 9mm Priest pistol, an interpretation of a double stack 1911 style pistol.
Double-stack 1911 pistols are extremely popular with many shooters these days as they take the best aspects of the original single-stack 1911 pistol, like its shootability and awesome sliding trigger while also addressing its “Achilles' heel,” which is the single-stack gun’s lower round capacity. After successfully launching the Vudoo Gun Works Möbius single-stack 1911, the company’s ambition was to take those successes a step further and take a single stack gun’s strongpoints and integrate them with the benefits of a double stack frame.
The Vudoo Priest double stack 1911 pistol is designed to be compatible with the popular STI/SVI-pattern double-stack magazines. This also allows shooters to take advantage of magazines with different capacities, such as 17, 19 or 23 rounds. The Vudoo Priest ships with two 17-round magazines from the factory. Vudoo Priest frames are built from nitrided 4140 steel and Cerakoted with customer requested colors. Slides are machined from 17-4 stainless steel and, much like the frames, customers can also request that their slides be left polished with the raw stainless look or finished with their chosen Cerakote color coatings. Given that mounted red dot optics have also hit the mainstream, Vudoo Gun Works will customize Priest slides to be cut for the popular Trijicon RMR footprint from the factory. The company is working on getting ready to offer other in-demand optic footprint patterns in the near future.
