Limited Edition ACOGs

Trijicon, Inc. will be offering two limited edition TA31 4x32 ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight) scopes in either a two or a three color Tiger Camo pattern, but only for a limited time. Both of these scopes feature the .223 Rem. Red Chevron BDC (Ballistic Drop Compensation) reticle in addition to the Picatinny rail compatible Trijicon TA51 Mount.

Trijicon ACOG scopes are slightly different than traditional riflescopes or LPVOs. Their lenses are prismatic and are arranged in a different fashion inside the optical housing. This allows them to be shorter and more compact, and unlike many traditional scopes, ACOG scopes are meant to be fired with both eyes open. The ACOG’s magnification is also fixed. On select models, such as the TA31, the reticle has dual illumination, both by a tritium lamp (for night time/low light use) and by a fiber optic band that picks up daylight.

4x32 ACOG models are perhaps the most popular, as many of those became standard issue for the US Military including the US Army and the US Marine Corps. These rugged scopes developed a reputation during the GWOT (Global War on Terror) era and saw plenty of use both in Afghanistan and Iraq. The 5.56 NATO or .223 Rem. BDC reticles made it much easier for American warfighters to put rounds on target as these reticles perfectly paired with their military rifles and carbines and issued ammunition.
