Tisas Aviator 1911

Tisas is bringing a new lightweight commander sized single stack 1911 to market with the release of the new Model 1911A1 Aviator pistol.

Commander size 1911s are smaller than a full size government 1911, with a shorter slide and a 4.25 inch barrel. The idea being that a slightly shorter gun would be easier to carry concealed. Likewise, commander size 1911s come with a rounded hammer instead of the traditional spur shaped hammer found on a service pistol.

Tisas USA new 1911A1 Aviator is also made from an aluminum frame to keep the weight more manageable for EDC (everyday carry). The pistol is available both in the traditional .45 ACP chambering or the more modern 9mm round. The barrel is made from 4140 hammer forged steel and all exterior parts are finished with a durable and attractive H-146 Cerakote finish. The frame is also finished with satin aluminum Cerakote. One of the biggest limitations of the original 1911 pistol was its diminutive sights, but the Aviator includes larger and easier to use front and rear sights. The front sight has a brass bead, a nice touch typically only seen on retro custom pistols. The gun’s features are faithful to the original commander 1911s, and the gun retains the original style grip safety, original M1911A1 low profile trigger and the original M1911A1 style curved mainspring housing. The 1911A1 Aviator ships with a pair of black rubber overmolded stocks and a seven round magazine in an airtight and water resistant lockable case.
