Tekto A7 Zastava OTF Knife

Maine-based Tekto Knives is collaborating with Zastava Arms to bring to market a new style of tactical knife: the A7 Zastava OTF Knife. The Tekto Knives A7 Zastava OTF is an automatic knife using an “OTF” arrangement which stands for “out the front.” The styling and design elements on this new knife are based on the classic Yugosalvian-made AK variants, the 7.62x39 mm Zastava M70 series. These rifles have always had a distinctive and different look from the rest of the Eastern bloc Kalashnikov variants, most notably with their unique handguards that had three slots where the upper and lower halves meet, as opposed to the two slots found virtually in every other Kalashnikov variant from the Cold War.

The three-slot motif is actually a central design feature, as the grip on the new Tekto A7 Zastava OTF knife prominently features that unique three-slot motif on either side of the grips. The A7 Zastava OTF grips are inlaid with the same type of wood that’s finished in the same style as that found on a Zastava M70 AK pattern rifle. In addition to the Zastava M70 matching wood inlays on the handle, the rest of the handle is constructed from 6061 aluminum. The business end of the Tekto A7 Zastava OTF knife is a symmetrical double-edged blade that is available in either a dagger point or a spear point profile and is manufactured from titanium coated S35VN steel. The blade length is 3.6 inches.
