Taurus TH45

Taurus USA is now offering a new model in the TH series of polymer-frame, hammer-fired DA/SA (Double Action/Single Action) pistols chambered for the classic American .45 ACP handgun cartridge. The Taurus TH 45 ships with two 13-round magazines, and its polymer frame is outfitted with ambidextrous safeties.  In addition to this, the frame has a built-in accessory rail that is Picatinny-compatible. The front strap also has molded finger grooves in order to provide the shooter with better ergonomics, and there is a stippled “Memory Pad” area on the side of the frame that gives you a place to rest your trigger finger with tactile feedback when you’re not pressing the trigger.

Taurus TH 45 Pistol Specifications:

  • Action: Double action / single action
  • Caliber: .45 ACP
  • Frame: Polymer
  • Barrel Length: 4.25 inches
  • Barrel Twist Rate: 1:16 RH, 6 grooves
  • Overall Length: 7.8 inches
  • Overall Width: 1.43 inches
  • Overall Height: 5.80 inches
  • Capacity: 13 rounds (includes two magazines)
  • Firing Pin Block: Yes
  • Loaded Chamber Indicator: Yes

The TH45 has a combination manual safety/decocker lever mounted at the rear of the frame. When the safety is moved down, the hammer of the gun is de-cocked, setting the gun up to be shot in double action mode. When it is moved upwards, the gun is on safe. A double action /single action gun gives you a longer, heavier trigger pull for the first shot, but then each shot after that is has a significantly lighter trigger pull. The double action mechanism also allows you to re-strike a cartridge with another trigger press if the gun fails to fire with the first trigger press.

MSRP for the TH 45 is $529.99, and for more information on this pistol or other products from Taurus USA, please visit taurususa.com.
