Taurus recently introduced the next iteration of its popular GX4 micro-compact pistol, the Taurus GX4 TORO (Taurus Optic Ready Option).

The new GX4 TORO adopts the Taurus Optic Ready Option mounting system, which facilitates mounting of several popular micro-red dot sights. The TORO system is designed around a factory optic-cut slide for those who want a low-print EDC handgun and the confident sight picture of a red dot. The GX4 TORO also comes with a flush-mount slide cover plate for use with the non-optic option. The mounting pattern covers the following optic models:

  • Shield RMSc
  • Holosun HS507K and HS407K
  • Sightmark Mini Shot A-Spec M3
  • Hex Wasp GE5077-MIC-RET
  • SIG RomeoZero
  • Riton 3 Tactix MPRD2
  • Trijicon RMR cc Red Dot (with the optional adapter plate P/N: 20048396)

Conveniently, it is incredibly easy to install a compatible red-dot optic onto the Taurus GX4 TORO and does not require the services of a gunsmith. To install one of the red dots listed above, simply remove the included slide cover plate, install the desired optic, and secure with the supplied screws.

The Taurus GX4 series of pistols occupies the micro-pistol class with their 10-, 11-, or 13-round capacity, durable finish, ergonomics, and exceptional accuracy. The Taurus GX4 offers minimal printing even when worn under light clothing yet delivers the firepower and performance serious personal defense practitioners demand in an EDC/CCW handgun.
