Kimber, Mfg. Inc. is expanding the lineup of its new double-stack 1911 pistol, the Kimber 2K11, to include variants that can be purchased in restrictive states such as Vermont, New York, Maryland, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, Connecticut and Delaware. These new state-compliant models, which are based on the Kimber 2K11 Stainless model, will ship with three 10-round magazines.

The Kimber 2K11 is Kimber’s response to the surging trend of modern single-action-only guns that look and work like the original 1911. Kimber currently offers 2K11 models chambered for either .45 ACP or 9mm, and shooters can have their pick between a pistol with iron sights only or one whose slide is cut to accept slide-mounted electronic red dot sights. 2K11 models also come equipped with a unique and patented toolless guide-rod which differs from the standard Dawson style unit that many widebody 1911 shooters are accustomed to.

The original Kimber 2K11 is built with an aluminum grip module, but these new state compliant Kimber 2K11 variants which are based on the Kimber 2K11 Stainless model are instead assembled using a grip module manufactured from high impact carbon fiber and Kevlar. These models also feature the gray colored KimPro Granite finish which enhances the pistol’s aesthetics and provides resilient durability against wear, tear and the elements.

Chris Klope, Kimber Mfg. Inc.’s Chief Operating Officer stated: “We are happy to be able to offer such a tremendous product for those states that have legal restrictions on capacity. The 2K11 has been an incredible success for the Kimber brand and we will continue to provide similar innovative introductions to every American who loves our brand.”
