Standard Manufacturing is now shipping their new SP-12 Compact Pro 12-gauge tactical pump action firearm. The new SP-12 Compact Pro features a 14½-inch barrel and is threaded to for screw-in chokes. Since this firearm has a 14½-inch barrel and an overall length of 26½ inches, the birdshead’s pistol-grip only configuration, the SP-12 Compact Pro will not run afoul of the NFA SBS (short barreled shotgun) regulations.

Standard Manufacturing’s SP-12 Compact Pro firearm loads and ejects shot shells from the bottom of its 7075 aircraft grade aluminum crafted receiver and is reminiscent of John Moses Browning’s venerable classic pump action design, the Ithaca Model 37 which was created to load and eject shells in the same way. Similarly, the SP-12 Compact Pro’s sliding fore-end also has a nylon strap to help keep the shooter’s hand in place and prevent it from sliding forward of the muzzle. This is also a historical Ithaca Model 37 modification that was popularized by the men of the NYPD’s famed Stakeout Unit (SOU) who used to deploy shortened Model 37s on their stakeout assignments.

SP-12 Compact Pro Firearm Features:

  • 12 gauge, 3-inch chamber
  • Pump-action
  • Handles 2 ¾ or 3-inch shot shells
  • 7075 Aluminum receiver
  • Matte black finish
  • Accepts screw-in chokes
  • 5+1 shot shell capacity with 2 ¾ inch shells
  • Ambidextrous safety with AR-15 style controls on rear of receiver
  • Compact form factor at 26 ½ inches overall length
  • 5 pound, 12 ounce overall weight

The Standard Manufacturing SP-12 Compact Pro’s retail pricing starts at $511, and the firearm is currently available through Standard Manufacturing’s stocking dealer network.
