Expanding its CO2 lineup for 2018, SIG Sauer announced the launch of the X-Five ASP air pistol, which is closely matched with its centerfire counterpart in the company's X-Five competition handgun.

“The new SIG Sauer X-Five air pistol is an outstanding training tool as are all of our Advanced Sport Pellet airguns,” said Joseph Huston, Vice President and General Manager of the SIG Sauer Airgun Division. “Airguns allow for more flexibility as to where you can shoot, such as your back yard, and more and more professionals are buying airguns for this very reason. Airguns are also perfect for teaching beginners firearms safety and the fundamentals of shooting.”

Built with an all-metal slide and frame, the SIG Sauer X-Five ASP air pistol operates with a realistic blowback operation, and the weight of the CO2 gun is nearly the same as its centerfire cousin in the company's competition line. This makes it a solid training tool for owners of the X-Five Competition, allowing them to practice grip and trigger pull without having to head to the range.

The pistol shoots .177-caliber BBs and uses a crisp single-action trigger. The gun features an ambidextrous safety and feeds from SIG's unique 20-round Rapid Pellet Magazine. Like the original gun, the ASP air gun has a fully adjustable rear sight and a Picatinny accessory rail compatible with any laser or firearm-mounted light, enabling owners to use their CO2 pistol in force-on-force training with the same accessories they count on in their centerfire defensive arms.

Each P320 X-Five ASP air pistol feeds from standard 12-gram CO2 cartridges, which are easily and quickly loaded into the grip of the pistol using the gun's cam-lever loading port. While muzzle velocity varies depending on ambient temperature and altitude, the pistol can shoot pellets as fast as 430 fps.

Models of the SIG Sauer X-Five ASP air pistol can be had in an all-black finish or a silver/black color scheme. The suggested retail price on the gun is $139.99.
