SIG Sauer is adding a new member to its SIG P320 Legion fleet of striker-fired handguns: The SIG Sauer P320 AXG Legion. The new P320 AXG variant distinguishes itself with its aluminum X-Series grip module and a slide with two ports cut out near its muzzle. The added weight of the aluminum grip module in conjunction with the ported slide is said to reduce felt recoil by up to 30 percent.
“Since its inception, the SIG Sauer Legion line of products has represented the pinnacle of performance and engineering, and the P320 AXG Legion is no exception,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales, SIG Sauer. “Featuring the strength and weight of the all metal AXG grip module and patent-pending slide integrated expansion chamber, the P320 AXG Legion delivers on signification recoil reduction for a shooting like no other pistol in its class.”
This modern, all-metal 9mm pistol not only makes use of the aluminum X-Series grip module, but has several other modern features. The slide is cut for the use with the ports of a compensator, while the rear is cut for the mounting of electronic red dot sights with the footprints for the SIG Romeo series of optics. Metallic XRay3 day and night sights also come installed standard on the slide. The pistol is treated with a modern Cerakote coating in SIG Legion gray and also has textured G10 grip panels. Depending on state or location, the P320 AXG Legion ships either with three 10-round or three 21-round 9mm steel magazines.
