One of the defining features of the world of optics is its division between first focal plane riflescopes and second focal plane optics. The new Shepherd DRS Sniper Series 6-24x50 riflescope changes all of that by blending these two reticle designs into one optic.

The company claims that the DHS Sniper Series riflescopes represent the next step in the field of Dual Reticle System technology, providing the benefits of both first and second focal plane reticles while also being constructed to provide shooters with a level of quality and durability.

The company's Sniper Series riflescopes are built using the requirements provided by SAS sniper specialists in the United Kingdom. These scopes are built with tactical turrets and are constructed on a 34 mm main-body tube with high-quality glass. The company uses US-made glass and matches lens sets with the use of a laser interferometer, which provides users with an optic that produces a clear, high-resolution sight picture.

The company's patented Dual Reticle System provides users with two different reticles, one in the first focal plane and one in the second focal plane, that each move independently of the other during magnification adjustments. This, combined with Shepherd's One Shot Zero system, allows users to place the reticles at different points in order to receive vital target information, such as range, first-shot placement and other adjustments.

The Shepherd DRS Sniper Series 6-24x50 riflescope is characterized by the company as the lightest dual-reticle optic on the market today. The optic is purged with argon gas to neutralize condensation and comes equipped with high-grade seals that make the optic totally fogproof, shockproof and waterproof. The riflescope will be available with at least six different reticle options, including the company's new Mil Dot reticle and several BDC options.

The DRS Sniper Series 6-24x50 riflescope launches in October 2017 and will retail at a suggested price of $1,299.
