Pistol-stabilizing braces were originally developed to aid disabled veterans in shooting the AR pistol platform and have developed into a popular addition that makes shooting AR-15 pistols more comfortable, more accurate and safer. The brace design achieves this by providing users with a third point of contact, enabling them to further stabilize the gun through contact with the shooter's forearm. More of today's shooters are rapidly discovering how the addition of a pistol-stabilizing brace to a short, AR-style pistol or other large-format pistol can expand the capabilities of these shorter defensive platforms, giving users a firearm that's more capable of greater precision and accuracy than non-stabilized rifle-caliber pistols.
SB Tactical started the pistol brace market rolling in 2013 with its original SB pistol brace, and other companies have since created braces of their own. Now SB Tactical is rolling out the the SBA5 Pistol Stabilizing Brace, a 5-position adjustable unit designed for all platforms that are capable of accepting a mil-spec carbine receiver extension.
The SBA5 features an integral, ambidextrous QD (Quick Detach) sling socket and an arm cuff based on the original brace, the SBA5 enhances the usability of the host firearm by providing an additional point of contact for the user.
