The Smith & Wesson M&P5.7 debuted at SHOT Show 2023 with two models. Both have a black polymer frame and black Armornite slide finish. One model had a manual safety and the other did not. Now a new model joins the M&P5.7 lineup which combines the classic Armornite finished slide and black controls with a a tactical Flat Dark Earth toned polymer frame to create a sharp-looking two-tone setup.
The M&P5.7 was designed to provide a reliable, accurate, and consistent shooting experience in a handgun platform for the increasingly popular 5.7x28mm caliber. By combining features of the tested M&P series with a new gas-operated, locked-breech, Tempo Barrel System, Smith & Wesson was able to harness the speed of the round maximum performance. In addition to this, the 5-inch barrel allows for a quicker extraction once the bullet passes the gas port, creating a more secured fireform effect.
The two-tone FDE M&P5.7 is optics ready and has a Picatinny-style rail for added accessories. The barrel has a 1/2x28 threaded muzzle with a thread protector to allow for suppressed shooting or other muzzle device. Its single-action flat-face trigger maintains a crisp break and is designed to allow for consistent finger placement that translates to more accurate and repeatable shooting. The pistol is made in the U.S.A. and ships with two 22 round capacity magazines.
