Modern ammunition is built to exacting specifications, with consistency and adherence to standards that make it some of the best ammo the world has ever seen. However, the pace of modern manufacturing methods and the need to cater to a mass market means that ammo has to fit a variety of guns used for a variety of purposes.

People who handload or reload their own ammunition, however, can take the time to precisely tailor ammo to their gun and reasons for shooting. Doing this correctly, though, means knowing the exact size of both the chamber of your gun and your reloaded ammunition.

Now RCBS, a leading manufacturer of ammunition reloading equipment for rifles and pistols, is expanding its line of Precision Mic and Chamber Gauge offerings with the addition of several new cartridge options. The RCBS Precision Mic helps reloaders determine the precise chamber headspace and bullet seating depth to within 0.001 inches. By measuring from the case shoulder to the base, the precision mic gives reloaders spot-on Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI) tolerance readings, making it an indispensable tool for safe, accurate reloads.

The RCBS Chamber Gauge is designed to measure minimum SAAMI specs, verifying overall cartridge length and ensuring rounds will safely chamber. Reloaders can simply drop a loaded round into the chamber gauge to see if it will fit their firearm. The RCBS Precision Mic lineup now includes gauges for 6 mm Creedmoor, 6 mm GT and 6.5 PRC, while the Chamber Gauge lineup has added 6 mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield, .300 Winchester Magnum as well as .44 Magnum.

MSRP for all models of RCBS Precision Mics is $74.95, and most models of RCBS Chamber Gauges have an MSRP of $28.45. For more information about RCBS Precision Mics and Chamber Gauges, or other RCBS products, please visit rcbs.com.
