Outdoor Edge Razor Vx Line

Outdoor Edge is introducing an outdoor-oriented utility knife product family that’s part of the company’s Advanced Carry Line, the new Outdoor Edge Razor VX knife series.

All Razor VX knives make use of the patented Outdoor Edge RazorSafe system, which works similarly to the way utility knives and box cutters with replaceable blades work. With a Razor VX knife, instead of having to sharpen the blade every time it gets dull, the press of a button releases the dulled and spent blade that can easily be replaced with a newly sharp one. Because these knives and their blades are designed for outdoors use, blades for an Outdoor Edge product have a different profile from box cutter blades. Instead, Razor VX blades have a drop-point profile which is more practical for use in the field than a boxcutter blade. Razor VX knives also use an assisted-opening blade mechanism that lets users easily open the knife with one hand. A traditional liner lock system keeps the blade locked open when the knife is in use for cutting tasks.

Outdoor Edge’s current lineup includes seven different Razor VX models, the VX1, VX2, VX3, VX4 and VX5. The VX1 and VX3 models have two separate sub-variants as well. All Razor VX series knives have 3-inch blades that are finished in either black oxide or stainless steel and made from Japanese 420J2 Stainless Steel. Razor VX handles will accommodate a removable ambidextrous pocket clip for either left or right pocket carry. Overall length across this product family ranges from 7.3 to 7.5 inches and weight fluctuates between 3.2 to 3.7 ounces. Each model ships with 3 to 4 extra replacement blades, and more can be purchased separately.
