Nightforce NXS 2.5-10X24mm

Nightforce Optics is making another limited run of the classic Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x24mm second-focal-plane riflescope. These compact tactical riflescopes were designed to be paired with firearms like the military’s Mk.12 SPR, a full size and accurized AR-15 variant with an 18-inch, match-grade barrel designed around the 77-grain Mk262 rifle cartridge from Black Hills Ammunition. As a designated marksman’s rifle, the Mk.12 saw much use during the GWOT era amongst special operations troops. Military personnel using these rifles could take advantage of the combination of rifle, ammunition and scope to place well-aimed shots beyond ranges for the typical military M4 carbine. The Nightforce NXS’ smaller 30mm body diameter and 24mm objective lens, along with its length of 10 inches and its weight of only 16.7 ounces made for a natural companion on the SPR or other similar rifles without adding large amounts bulk, length or weight. The second focal plane optics inside this scope means that the markings inside the reticle can be used for ranging and adjustments are accurate only at the maximum 10x setting. However, this also means that the reticle stays the same size as you zoom, and doesn’t grow or shrink as the power of your optic changes.

Originally discontinued in lieu of newer and more modern optics, the Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x24mm riflescope has seen only one other limited run of scopes, back in 2015. Due to its role atop designated marksman rifles during the Global War On Terror, the NXS 2.5-10x24mm riflescope has become a favorite of collectors and those who build “clone-correct” military replica rifles. For this new limited run in 2024, Nightforce is offering the NXS 2.5-10x24mm with either MOA or MRAD adjustments with their respective classic MOAR or MIL-R reticles.
