Berger Ammunition is now adding two new powerful long distance rifle calibers into its regular product lineup of precision target ammunition. Berger customers that shoot .300 Norma Mag. or .338 Norma Mag. can now take advantage of the new Berger Ammunition 245-grain Long Range Hybrid Target (LRHT) or 300-grain Hybrid OTM Tactical loads.
“Long-range shooting enthusiasts who have little time or desire to handload have insisted we craft ammunition offerings with the highest level of precision,” stated Berger President, Dan Thelen. “Our entire Berger ammunition line is now built from only the highest quality components available in the marketplace, providing peak performance for those without time at the reloading bench to build their own.”
These factory loaded rounds are assembled using top of the line components including Finnish Lapua brass, Vihtavouri propellants and Berger’s own hyper efficient high ballistic coefficient hybrid ogive bullets. The idea is to load cartridges using the same type of high-end components that any serious handloader and precision rifle shooter would strive to load themselves.
.300 Norma Mag. is a .30-caliber, centerfire long-distance magnum cartridge designed by Swedish ammunition company Norma. The company based it off the other new factory loading it is introducing for 2025: the .338 Norma Mag. The .338 also happens to be the .300 Norma Magnum’s parent case. Both rifle cartridges are designed to push heavier, long and sleek bullets that weigh well over 200 grains across extended distances.
Berger Ammunition guarantees these new factory loads along with the rest of the projectiles in their precision target ammunition product line to have extremely concentric jackets with a maximum tolerance of .0003 inches of TIR (total indicated runout).
