One of the most popular optics options for modern sporting rifles today is a reflex-style red-dot sight, and the Meopta MeoRed T reflex sight is one of the newest options on the market, designed to provide clarity, durability and dependability to consumers.
“The MeoRed T is an excellent tactical sight for today’s MSR platforms when quick target acquisition is a must,” said Reinhard Seipp, general manager of Meopta USA. “This reflex sight is also compatible with night vision optics and magnifiers, which makes it versatile for various situations in the field.”
Made from a one-piece housing machined from aluminum alloy, the Meopta MeoRed T reflex sight is a 1X optic with a 30 mm objective diameter. The sight provides users with a 1.5-MOA red dot, along with 12 different brightness settings to accommodate for different lighting scenarios, including modes for night-vision use.
The red dot is projected on the company's MeoBright lenses, which are coated with a proprietary lens coating designed to enhance the clarity of the lens glass while repelling dirt, dust, oil and moisture. The internals of the optic are also ruggedly built, making the MeoRed impervious to water, shock and fogging. According to company-provided specifications, the sight is designed to withstand shocks up to 500 Gs of force. Additionally, the optic will remain sealed against water penetration in depths of up to 2 meters for a period of two hours. The operational temperature of the sight ranges from -40 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
Power for the laser dot is provided with a commonly available AA battery, giving the optic a battery life of 2,000 hours on its mid-range setting. To protect against excessive battery wastage, the Meopta MeoRed T is equipped with an automatic shut-off that powers down after eight hours of inactivity. Windage and elevation adjustments are provided, and 80 MOA of adjustment range is offered in both dimensions.
The Meopta MeoRed T reflex sight measures 4.84 inches long, 2.32 inches high and 2.64 inches wide. The optic weighs 8.82 ounces. Optional accessories are also provided by the company, allowing consumers to pair their optic up with a number of filters, spacers, quick-detach mounts and AR-15 offset mounts. The suggested retail price for the MeoRed T is $999.99.
