MasterPiece Arms announced the launch of its brand-new MPA 65BA-SL bolt-action rifle, which provides users with the ability to quickly change calibers and barrels without losing any accuracy.
"We always have our finger on the pulse of the precision-rifle community. We noticed that many PRS shooters have need for a secondary caliber or potentially a trainer rifle usually chambered in a less expensive or easier-to-get caliber," said Phil Cashin, president of MasterPiece Arms. "With the incorporation of the Switch Lug System, there's no need for a second rifle. Simply get a second barrel in your preferred caliber, and possibly a spare bolt and magazine, and now your match gun can also be your training gun.
The new rifle incorporates the Switch Lug System from West Texas Ordnance, which means that barrel and caliber changes can be done within five minutes using a minimal amount of tools and effort.
"The Switch Lug System also makes barrel replacement a very simple task," Cashin said. "all you need is a Torx wrench to make the switch."
The MPA 65BA-SL rifle is constructed on a Curtis Custom Axiom Remington-700-style action, along with the consumer's choice of using a MasterPiece Arms Chassis system or a Competition Chassis. Completing the setup is a 24-inch Sendero-profile Spencer barrel chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 1:8 twist rate, which features a hand-lapped finish and is guaranteed to print at least a 3/8-MOA group.
Other features of the new rifle include a TriggerTech trigger, which can be set anywhere from 1 to 3 pounds, along with an included bubble level, AICS-compatible magazine well, barricade-stop system and an adjustable length of pull that measures 13.75 to 15 inches. The rifle features a durable Cerakote finish.
The suggested retail price on the new MasterPiece Arms MPA 65BA-SL rifle is $3,250. The company estimates 8-12 weeks from the order date for final delivery of the gun.
