Kimber Manufacturing has a long history of crafting solidly built 1911 pistols and other top-quality firearms. Now the company is adding new models to its line of Rapide 1911 pistols.

The Rapide Dawn and Rapide Scorpius are styled after the Kimber's Rapide family of 1911 handguns. These new pistols feature the same stainless steel slides with stepped cocking serrations and slide-lightening cuts as the rest of the Rapide lineup. The frame includes Kimber’s Stiplex textured front strap, as well as G-10 grips to create a secure grip-surface area.

The Rapide Dawn pistol features a frame and slide that is finished in Silver KimPro II with brush-polished flats. There are slide-lightening cuts for fast lockup along with a Gold TiN finished barrel, and Gray/Black Rapide G-10 grips. The Rapide Scorpius pistol also has slide-lightening cuts and features a frame and slide that is finished in Black KimPro II with brush-polished flats. The barrel on the Rapide Scorpius has a Black DLC finish, and the pistol features Black Rapide G-10 grips.

The new 1911 Rapide Dawn and Rapide Scorpius models are both chambered in 9 mm and are built on stainless steel frames. These models use a 5-inch stainless steel, match-grade barrel with a 1:16-inch left-hand twist. Rapide Dawn and Rapide Scorpius 1911s are built around a 12-pound recoil spring for reliability and include a 9-round magazine. The two new Rapide models also include Tru-Glo TFX Pro Day/Night sights with Tru-Glo's signature orange front ring. The Rapide Dawn and Rapide Scorpius 1911 models both measure 8.7 inches long, 5.25 inches tall, 1.28 inches wide, and weigh 40 ounces.

The Rapide Dawn and Rapide Scorpius 1911s each have an MSRP of $1,729. For more information regarding these new firearms  or other products from Kimber manufacturing, please visit kimberamerica.com.
