Kalashnikov USA is a renowned manufacturer of Kalashnikov pattern firearms in the United States of America, and now they are teaming up with the Texas based CMC Trigger Corp, a company that is known for drop-in AR-15 triggers. The first product from this partnership is a new aftermarket drop-in trigger option for your AK-pattern rifle.
This new drop-in, precision-oriented, single-stage, non-adjustable trigger unit is designed to work with Kalashnikov USA’s KR-103 and KR/KP-9 models. They are also compatible with the majority of AK pattern rifles. The AK 2.0 Trigger unit is manufactured with high tech CNC machine technology and is built from a combination of S-7 tool steel, 8620 alloy steel and 7075-T6 aircraft grade aluminum. They are preset from the factory to have a 2.5- to 3.5-pound break, and like many modern high performance trigger units, the AK 2.0 Trigger has a flat trigger bow.
In the past, Kalashnikov pattern firearms were mainly associated with inexpensive builds that are pieced together from imported surplus parts. Current politics, culture and world events have shifted the cost and availability of these parts and components and the AK landscape now looks very different. However, in some corners of the American gun world, AKs are going through a renaissance and efforts such as those from Kalashnikov USA or other smaller, “boutique” armories are focusing American manufacturing prowess and ingenuity into getting more performance out of the reliable and proven Kalashnikov operating system. As a result, the American shooting public is seeing a surge in new and relevant AK accessories such as the AK 2.0 Trigger or the modern furniture sets and magazines from Magpul and other vendors.
The AK 2.0 Trigger unit retails with a starting price of $189. For more information on Kalashnikov USA products, please visit their website at kalashnikov-usa.com. To learn more about CMC Trigger Corp’s products, please visit cmctriggers.com.
