When it comes to finding the right flashlight for use in any survival kit, go-bag or EDC pack, having multi-function capability helps to cut down on other essentials in any preparedness kit. This ensures that a user's kit can remain streamlined, lightweight and nimble. Some of the latest do-it-all lights to hit the market are the Hybridlight Journey 150 and 160 flashlights, which are built as affordable, lightweight multi-function options that can survive any scenario.

Of course, the stand-out feature of the Hybridlight Journey flashlights is their illumination output, which are the same as the light's model numbers, putting out 150 or 160 lumens on a high setting. The Journey 150 has a maximum battery life of six hours, but a secondary low mode offers an enhanced battery life of 21 hours. The Journey 160 also features a low-mode output that increases its battery life up to 25 hours.

Each light is powered by a lithium-ion battery, a 1,200 mAh batter in the Journey 150 and a 2,400 mAh battery in the Journey 160. Each light can be recharged through a micro-USB port located on the tail end of the light body. For those in the wild without access to an outlet, the side of each light features a large solar panel that allows sunlight to recharge the battery. Another added bonus is the inclusion of a standard USB output point, which provides consumers with a solar power source for their electronic devices. Thanks to the high-quality, durable construction of the devices, the batteries in each light will hold a full charge for up to seven years, ensuring that users can keep an emergency power source stored in a ready bag or a vehicle for long periods of time.

Additionally, each Hybridlight Journey flashlight is built tough, having the ability to survive drops of a meter in height and be submerged in water up to a meter deep. The lights are also designed to be buoyant, so even if they're dropped in deep water, they'll always float to the top to remain accessible. The Journey 150 measures just 7 inches in overall length and weighs only 4 ounces, while the more-powerful 160 model measures 6 inches in length and weighs in at 4.5 ounces. The suggested retail price on the 150 and 160 flashlights is $19.95 and $34.95, respectively. Light bodies can be had in either black or yellow colors.
