GiantMouse is now releasing a new version of its Clyde folding knife (first unveiled in 2019) with a new denim canvas micarta handle.
GiantMouse Knives was founded by Danish cutlery designers Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnæs along with their American partner and entrepreneur, Jim Wirth. The Clyde folding knife is named after the founders’ favorite old haunt and watering hole in Portland, Oregon, “The Clyde Common.” The Clyde Common was once located at the ACE Hotel in the Pearl District of the city of Portland. The first thing the eye picks up on the Clyde folding knife is its business end, with its upswept drop point blade made from 20CV steel that has a satin finish. Besides the Danish design perspective, trained eyes might also recognize both Japanese and Persian influences on the lines of the Clyde’s blade. The three-inch blade also has a brass thumb stud and back spacer that contrasts nicely with the blue denim micarta handles. Overall, the Clyde measures a hair under seven inches. Folded into its handle, the Clyde measures nearly four inches.
