 G9 Defense 126 Grain Subsonic 9mm Ammunition

G9 Defense is coming out with a new 9mm subsonic defensive round. The 126-grain Subsonic is an External Hollow Point (EHP) made completely of copper to penetrate common barriers found in defensive scenarios without loss of performance.

The 126-grain Subsonic round tweaks the performance of the EHP design for the unique requirements of subsonic delivery, Other subsonic rounds are often repurposed versions of their supersonic counterparts, resulting in inconsistent performance when it matters most. The G9 126-grain subsonic is purpose-built for peak terminal impact.

Using a patented shape reminiscent of the original EHP design, the 126-grain Subsonic round uses fluid dynamics for cavitation, creating catastrophic wounds and reduced over-penetration. In ballistic gel, this translates to a large permanent wound cavity and predictable results. Traditional hollow point designs are prone to underpenetrate unless they fail to open, at which point they can overpenetrate. Since the projectile in the 126-grain Subsonic round does not deform, it has a failsafe wounding mechanism as well as a reliable method to maintain consistent penetration. The EHP Subsonic also has minimal deflection when shot into laminated auto glass.

The four parabolic flutes on the projectile are designed to boost wounding potential and control penetration. Built from solid copper, there is no jacket to separate, regardless of the barriers faced. This in turn optimizes kinetic energy transfer into the terminal target.
