FN America is now making the FN 509 Midsize MRD pistol in Flat Dark Earth (FDE). This pistol is the latest in the optics-ready FN 509 line-up to be offered in FDE, FN’s signature color.

The FN 509 Midsize MRD FDE is equipped with the company’s low-profile optics-mounting system. This is FN’s solution for those who want the performance, controllability and capacity of a Standard model, but also want a smaller-framed gun that is easy to conceal and easy to carry.

This new pistol has other features in common with the rest of the FN 509 MRD line, such as a FN Low Profile Optics Mounting System with plate adapters for direct mounting of more than 10 different optics and suppressor-height, black co-witness iron sights.

Like the rest of the FN 509 line, the MidSize MRD is striker-fired and is chambered in 9 mm and has fully ambidextrous controls. Each pistol features FN’s signature cold hammer-forged barrel with recessed target crown, enhanced slide serrations for easier slide manipulation, aggressive grip texturing to ensure secure grip while shooting and much more. The pistol also has interchangeable backstraps and a short length of Picatinny rail on the front of the frame.
