When choosing an optic for your AR-15 or other rifle, the wide range of prices and quality in rail-mounted sight equipment can seem overwhelming. For those looking for an inexpensive optic for range use, the new Firefield Impact XLT Reflex Sight is a product that won't break a budget.

The Firefield Impact XLT Reflex Sight are made to mount on either Weaver or Picatinny-rail surfaces and are designed to withstand the shock of recoil from rifles chambered up to .308 Win. The optic is built with a number of features that work to promote a trouble-free range experience, including AR-red coated glass that eliminates parallax and provides limitless eye relief in order to provide shooters with the ability to acquire and engage targets easily and quickly.

The reflex sight also features windage and elevation adjustments that can be drifted in 1-MOA increments up to a total of 120 MOA. The sights are constructed from a combination of polymer that is rated IP55 weather resistant along with a body built using 6061-T6 aluminum.

The Impact XLT features a number of illuminated-reticle options, including a 5-MOA red dot, 3-MOA red dot with a 50-MOA circle, 3-MOA red dot with 50-MOA crosshairs and a 3-MOA red dot with a 30-MOA circle/crosshair reticle. Every reticle choice in the lineup comes with five individual brightness settings, each manually adjustable by the user.

The reflex sight runs off one CR2032 battery, which provides a run time ranging from 40 hours to 250 hours, depending on the brightness setting selected. The sights are constructed with a protective hood that prevents damage to the glass. Other features of the unit include electronic controls and a QD mount that allows for rapid attaching and detaching.

The company also sells a model of reflex sight that runs off a CR1632 battery and provides a run time ranging from 25 hours to 250 hours, depending on usage. The suggested retail price on the Firefield Impact LXT Reflex Sight is $95.99, while the XL model retails at a suggested price of $71.99.
