European American Armory (EAA), a leading importer of firearms from Europe, has begun importing a new Turkish-made version of the venerable Browning Hi Power, first created by John Moses Browning and his Belgian colleague at FN, Diuedonné Saive. The EAA Girsan MC P35 OPS Optic comes with EAA’s Far-Dot electronic slide mounted red dot sight installed and is ready to use out of the box.
“When we were looking at how to make the MC P35 OPS more useful and offer the customer something that they really wanted directly from the factory, a light and bright red dot that uses a mounting pattern that’s almost universally accepted without any sort of adapter plate was the overwhelming choice,” said Chase Duffey, National Sales & Import Manager at EAA Corp. “Now, if the customer wants to keep it as is from the factory or if they want to accessorize it with lots of commercially available products at their local shop, they have every option right out of the box.”
The MC P35 OPS Optic is an all-steel 9mm semi-automatic handgun with the delayed blowback system made famous by Browning himself. Size wise, this Girsan pistol is true to the original, with a 4.8-inch barrel. It also comes standard with ambidextrous thumb safeties and G10 polymer stocks. Also true to the original military Hi Power design, the Girsan MC P35 PI includes a classically-styled ring hammer that is better known to some people as the “commander style hammer.” This hammer is an alternative to the other spur shaped hammer that may cause hammer bite and shooting discomfort for shooters with larger hands. Unlike the original Hi-Power pistols, however, the MC P35 OPS Optic features a modernized flat bladed trigger along with a Picatinny railed dust cover that can accept standard pistol mounted accessories like lights or lasers. EAA’s Far-Dot sight that comes mounted from the factory does not need any special mounting plates for any optic that shares the RMS/RMSc footprint.
