Dark Storm Industries, based in New York, offers a number of featureless AR-style rifles that the company claims are legal for civilian ownership in all 50 states, including those with regulations on the features included on a privately owned AR-15. The company's latest offering is the featureless DS-10 Typhoon chambered in the popular 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge.

The Dark Storm Industries DS-10 Typhoon in 6.5 Creedmoor are constructed on the company's billet upper and lower machined from 7075 aluminum and completed with the addition of a forward assist and dust cover. The receiver is built specifically to be compatible with the Thordsen Customs FRS-15 stock, eliminating the need for adaptors or spacers required for use on standard AR-15 lowers.

The stock is designed for complete compatibility with all state and local laws regarding the definition of pistol grips and adjustable stocks. With the FRS-15, users have a comfortable rifle stock that provides a secure, natural shouldering point for any user, thanks to the inclusion of a rubber butt pad and a checkered grip. The stock also features several sling points, as well as quick-detach sling sockets.

The Dark Storm Industries DS-10 Typhoon in 6.5 Creedmoor is built with a non-threaded barrel measuring 18 inches long and finished in a nitride coating that works to prevent corrosion. The barrel features a twist rate of 1:8-inch and includes a mid-length gas system operating on the direct-impingement principle.

Surrounding the barrel and gas system, buyers will find the company's Ultralight Narrow Profile handguard measuring 15 inches long and compatible with all M-Lok accessories and Picatinny rails on the market. The handguard features a Cerakote finish and can be had in black, flat dark earth or OD green colors. The rail and upper receiver provide owners with a continuous flattop Picatinny rail that allows for flexibility in mounting optics.

Inside the receiver, users will also find a nitride-treated bolt-carrier group, as well as a 90-degree safety selector made from billet aluminum and a charging handle equipped with an extended latch that allows for more control and versatility in charging the rifle.

The DS-10 Typhoon in 6.5 Creedmoor measures in at an overall length of 37.25 inches and weighs 9 pounds, 4 ounces. The rifle is available in fixed- or detachable-magazine models and ships with a single 10-round Magpul PMag. The suggested retail price on the rifle starts at $1,495.
