With the increasing popularity of AR- and AK-style pistols on the market, accessory manufacturers are rolling out new products that help with the stabilization of these compact platforms, enabling owners to get more accuracy and precision from their pistols. One of the latest innovations in the stabilizing-brace market is the DoubleStar Strongarm pistol brace, designed to provide consumers with a high-quality alternative to cheaper braces.

“With the popularity of pistol stabilizing braces on the rise, there are many that make the shooting experience less desirable because of poor materials or faulty production,” said Nick Collier, DoubleStar director of special operations.

Unlike many current-day options molded from plastic or foam, the DoubleStar Strongarm is machined from 6061 billet aluminum, creating a more durable, rugged, long-lasting product that can handle the tough environment in which many AR-style pistols operate. Durability is further enhanced by a mil-spec hardcoat-anodized finish that wards off wear and corrosion. This ensures that owners have a complete brace able to handle the same kinds of stresses as the firearm to which it is mounted.

“We at DoubleStar know that people rely on our products, whether it is because they are military, law enforcement or serious competitors," Collier said. "Therefore, it is extremely important to us that every part is carefully designed and manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility using only the materials and technology that will ensure our DoubleStar and Ace products will perform to our stringent standards.”

Each DoubleStar Strongarm pistol-stabilizing brace is made in the USA and, using only two simple clamping screws, is designed to fit standard pistol buffer tubes measuring 1.11-1.2 inches in diameter. The brace includes quick-detach sling-swivel mounting points and ships with a single sling swivel. To secure the brace to a user's forearm, the product includes a hook-and-loop strap, ensuring stabilization.

The overall length of the Strongarm measures 1.9 inches and weighs in at 4.8 ounces. DoubleStar recommends that users pair the ATF-approved brace with the company's AR400 pistol-tube assembly, which has a diameter of 1.19 inches, in order to ensure compatibility. The suggested retail price on the Strongarm brace is $99.99.
