Long-range rimfire shooting competitions are growing in popularity. These matches allow shooters to hone their precision shooting skills at much shorter distances than a centerfire precision match, typically anywhere from 50 to 400 yards, at significantly lower ammunition costs.

Now CZ-USA is introducing the new 457 LRP rifle, a gun that continues their heritage of making rimfire rifles renowned for their accuracy and value. The 457 LRP is chambered in .22 LR and has the same quality and accuracy as their 457 Varmint MTR with all the benefits of an ergonomic target stock. The LRP uses the MTR’s ‘Match’ chamber and is built to return superb groups when using target-grade ammunition.

Add the optic of your choice to the Picatinny rail mounted to the top of the receiver, and the 457 LRP is ready for the firing line at any precision rimfire event. For those who shoot at longer distances, the rail has an integral 25-MOA adjustment. This makes it easier for the scope to remain in the center of its adjustment range even with the large amount of drop that .22 LR can experience at just a few hundred yards.

The target-style stock of the 457 LR includes an adjustable cheekpiece and buttstock, allowing the shooter to adjust the cheek weld and length of pull. The grip and fore-end feature the CZ’s Soft Touch surface treatment for a solid grip while moving from one shooting station to another.

The user-adjustable trigger of the 457 LR can be tuned for creep, poundage and overtravel. The barrel is cold hammer-forged and lapped, with a .866 inch Varmint profile. The barrel has also has been fluted to reduce weight and has 1/2x28 tpi threads for use with a suppressor or muzzle device.
