CZ USA has just launched the latest member of its CZ 600 rifle series, the new CZ 600 American. CZ 600 American rifles are traditionally styled, Turkish-walnut stocked bolt-action rifles with fleur de lis checkering and straight combs. The CZ 600 barrel is hammer-forged with a hunting contour. CZ USA offers this new rifle in a wide variety of popular rifle chamberings, from .223 Remington to .300 Win. Mag. This new rifle has a proprietary action and offers shooters an adjustable trigger with sub-MOA accuracy at 100 meters when using match grade ammunition.
In the world of bolt action rifles, the length of the action is dependent on that specific rifle’s chambering, and in the case of the new CZ 600 American, both the barrel length and the action are optimized to the specific caliber that a given gun is built for. The CZ 600’s steel receiver also makes use of the popular Remington 700 action footprint for optics bases or ring mounts. Even though nowadays the over one century old Mauser action may seem outdated, the CZ 600 American still borrows one of the most famous Mauser action innovations: a controlled feed mechanism. With controlled feed, the extractor “claw” is constantly grabbing onto the rim of the casing from the time the bolt strips the cartridge off the magazine. With controlled feed, the action hangs onto that casing throughout every step of the firing cycle until the action is cycled back and the bolt passes the ejector which kicks the spent casing away from the receiver. Controlled feed actions have been favored by serious hunters who value reliable bolt action feeding and cycling from any position.
The new CZ 600 American is available chambered in .223 Rem., .243 Win., .270 Win., .30-'06 Sprg., .300 Win. Mag., .308 Win., 6.5 Creedmoor and 7.62x39mm. For a more comprehensive list of features, and to learn more about this new CZ centerfire bolt action rifle, please visit cz-usa.com.
