Springfield Armory is releasing the Model 2020 Boundary line of bolt-action rifles. The Boundary rifle line combines a carbon fiber stock and the sleek lines of a classic hunting rifle with modern features and materials. The rifle has a patent-pending robust one-piece hinged floor plate bottom metal design that is compatible with Model 700 receivers. This design eliminates fitment and complexity issues by combining the box and the bottom metal, resulting in one universal bottom metal setup for short-action calibers. The PRC and non-PRC long-action calibers use the same bottom metal and have two follower lengths and an added spacer that fills the area left by the shorter follower.
“The Model 2020 family of rifles has established itself as a pre-eminent option for the serious hunter who demands the best,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “With the addition of the Boundary to the Model 2020 line, hunters have a new option that combines the appeal of a traditionally configured hunting rifle with the benefits of cutting-edge performance.”
The Model 2020 Boundary is designed for consistent accuracy. Springfield Armory stands behind the rifle with a rock-solid .75 MOA accuracy guarantee for a three-shot group at 100 yards with quality match-grade factory ammunition in the hands of a skilled shooter.
The heart of the Boundary is the Model 2020 action that features dual locking lugs on a fluted bolt that runs smoothly down EDM raceways. In addition to this, the Boundary’s TriggerTech Field trigger is adjustable from 2.5 to 5 pounds and has a low-profile, non-snag safety and a smooth pull.

The Boundary is available with either a BSF carbon fiber or a traditional fluted stainless steel barrel. The BSF barrel of the Model 2020 Boundary is jacketed in a roll-wrapped carbon fiber sleeve and loaded under tension, meaning 95 percent of the carbon fiber sleeve doesn’t contact the barrel. The rifle — offered in short- and long-action configurations and is available in .308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, .300 PRC, .300 Win. Mag, 7mm Rem. Mag. or 7mm PRC.

The barreled action on the Model 2020 Boundary is fitted to the 100% carbon fiber AG Sportsman stock that has hand-painted Rogue camouflage. It boasts a 13.5-inch length of pull, along with two QD sling attachment points and a 1-inch Pachmayr Decelerator Pad for more shooting comfort.

MSRP for the stainless-steel versions of the Model 2020 Boundary is $2,173, and the carbon-fiber barrel versions have an MSRP of $2,599. More information on these new rifles and other products from Springfield Armory is available at springfield-armory.com.
