Bond Arms Rowdy XL

Earlier in the year, Bond Arms introduced a new .45 Colt/.410 derringer known as the Rowdy XL. This new derringer’s primary mission is to dispatch rodents and vermin such as dangerous snakes.

The new Rowdy XL derringer takes after Bond Arms well-known Snake Slayer derringer, but unlike the latter, it is designed to be more affordable and budget friendly, retailing for approximately $250 less than the Snake Slayer or other comparable firearms.

The Rowdy XL’s trigger breaks at 7 pounds and the action is similar to other Bond Arms derringer, so both over and under barrels’ breeches unlock from the bottom with a hinge at the top of the firearm. This derringer’s grip is built into the frame and has stocks made from B6 resin with an oversized contour. The Rowdy XL is built with a steel frame and has an overall weight of 22 ounces, making it comparable to most steel framed snub nosed revolvers. One of the cost-reducing measures seen on the Rowdy XL is its bead blasted stainless steel finish, which is more cost-effective than polishing the frame to a sheen without having to compromise on mechanical quality or parts durability. The Rowdy XL is chambered for the .410/.45 Colt, as .410 shells are suitable for dispatching snakes or rodents. Remember, swapping out calibers is as simple as unhinging the barrels and replacing them with another set bored out for a different chambering if desired.
