Bear Creek Arsenal has just launched a new .22-caliber, magnum rimfire semi-automatic carbine, the BC-202. This 16-inch rifle is part of Bear Creek BC-200 series product family and uses a proven semi-automatic rimfire action along with a rotary magazine action to feed .22 WMR cartridges into its breech. Both the action and magazine feeding system are based on elements from the classic Ruger 10/22 design and can even share compatibility in certain parts.
The heart of the Bear Creek Arsenal BC-202 is its 16-inch match grade 416R stainless steel bull barrel with a 1:16-inch rifling twist. The barrel sports an outer diameter of .920 inches and its muzzle is cut with industry standard ½x28 tpi threads. It includes a thread protector. In addition to this, the barrel BC-202 has an 11-degree target crown. The barrel connects to a flat-top receiver with an integrated flat-top Picatinny accessory rail over a fully machined 7075-T6 aluminum receiver, making this rifle optics ready. All the shooter needs to do is mount a red dot or riflescope and zero it in. The nine-shot magazine also functions similar to those rimfire magazines made famous by other manufacturers but features a unique rotor assembly to both keep cartridges separate and feed them into the action reliably. The barreled action sits in a black synthetic Hogue Overmold synthetic stock with a grippy and tacky rubber texture for added grip and purchase.
