Barrett Firearms has just unveiled a new bolt action rifle optimized for ELR (extreme long range) shooting, the new Barrett MRADELR.

“This rifle is a testament to our unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in long-range shooting. We look forward to sharing this innovation with the world at the 2024 SHOT Show and bringing the same capability to the hands of marksmen who demand nothing but the best, " said Bryan James, the President of Barrett Firearms.

The MRADELR is a magnum size magazine fed bolt action rifle designed to handle precision cartridges like the .416 Barrett  that are used in extreme-long-range shooting. The Barrett MRADELR is built so its end users can quickly swap out barrels and change calibers as needed with just the use of a one tool, while hanging bolt heads requires no tools. Barrett MRADELR barrels are match grade and built from stainless steel with single cut rifling, which is how the most accurate rifle barrels are typically manufactured. Because the MRADELR handles long distance magnum rifle chamberings, MRADELR barrels include Barrett’s three-port muzzle brake; these barrels are also compatible with Barrett’s QDL muzzle brake as well.

The modern upper receiver has a topmost section of M1913 Picatinny rail with a continuous 10-MOA slant that when combined with a purpose built ELR scope mount provides the shooter a higher angle and thus the most elevation adjustment possible. The fore end measures 24.6 inches and has M-Lok slots on both the left and right sides. Besides providing this extra degree of elevation adjustment, the MRADELR also comes with a built in adjustable stock system as the precise alignment of the optic with the shooter is crucial to precision at any distance.
