Detroit auto worker Jerry Wayne became somewhat of a media sensation this week after a video of him debating a testy Joe Biden about gun control went viral.

Former Vice President Biden was at the Fiat-Chrysler auto plant in Detroit on Tuesday for a 2020 presidential campaign stop and making his way through a crowd of union workers when Wayne asked him why he was actively trying to end the Second Amendment. Biden responded with several profanity-laden tirades, even as his own campaign staffers tried to end the exchange.

“You’re full of s***,” Biden told Wayne, adding that no one needs an “AR-14” or “100 rounds.”

After telling Wayne that “they’re gonna take your AR-14s away,” Biden appeared to challenge Wayne to a fight, saying, “I’m gonna go outside with you in a minute…Give me a break, man. Don’t be such a horse’s a**.”

After hearing about the incident, Dan Warner, owner of Next Level Armament in Jenison, MI, reached out to Wayne via social media.

“I was talking about the video with one of my buddies and he said, ‘I’d like to buy that guy a beer.’ I told him, ‘I’d like to give him an AR,’” Warner said. "I was able to get in touch with Jerry, who was incredibly articulate and passionate about the Second Amendment."

Within a day of the incident, Warner had built and gifted a laser-engraved rifle to Wayne. The magazine has a logo of the Democratic Party donkey and the words “100 Round Clip Magazine,” while the lower receiver features a pointing Biden, an “AR-14” designation and the quote, “You’re full of s***!”

When asked why he decided to gift the “AR-14,” Warner said he was impressed by Wayne’s courage under pressure and willingness to stand up for his beliefs.

“He’s a young working guy in unfriendly territory, surrounded by union workers and yet he had the balls to stand up and say how he felt in a very articulate manner,” Warner said. “Biden’s in his face, it’s hostile, and yet he stood his ground. I wanted him to have some token of appreciation so he could tell his grandkids about the day he stood up to Joe Biden.”

Since the video went viral, Wayne has been on Fox & Friends and appeared in an NRA video addressing the incident.
