Now here's something you don't see everyday. CMMG's new Mk9 AR pistol, introduced this year has an RKM7 KeyMod handguard on a free-floating handguard, Magpul MOE grip and trigger guard and single-stage, mil-spec trigger.

At 5.3 pounds, this is a hefty pistol. The 8-inch, A2 compensator-topped barrel will help keep things on target, as will the generous sight radius and full rail for optics should a red-dot or reflex sight be desired. A 32-round, Colt-style magazine keeps the Mk9 fed, and controls are all standard AR-platform (bolt release, magazine release, safety, etc.).

So, why have such a heavy AR-platform pistol in 9 mm as compared to, say, .300 AAC Blackout (which is also available)? Well, for starters, it's just plain fun. Sure, this isn't something you'd want to carry around all day, but for an afternoon of plinking it's sure to bring a smile to any shooter's face. Numerous optic options, including iron or polymer back-up sights, abound; various accessories can be added to the KeyMod rail if a light, laser or combination were desired; there's a lot that can be done with this pistol.

MSRP: $1,099.95. Comes with one magazine and is available in 9 mm, .300 AAC Blackout or .22 LR.
