"With the new 6.5 Creedmoor models, we set out to deliver our most accurate line of rifles to date," CMMG CEO Chris Reinkemeyer said. "We’re extremely excited about this up-and-coming caliber and are pleased to offer it to our customers in our proven Mk3 line."
Entering the hot 6.5 Creedmoor market, the company ensured that it would cover multiple price points and designs in its lineup, giving consumers four different models to choose from, depending on their priorities. Each rifle model is built on a billet 7075-T6 aluminum receiver set and uses rifle-length, direct-impingement gas systems.
The line starts out with a base model that uses a 20-inch barrel, which features a medium taper, and a standard A2 compensator. The rifle also features the company's single-stage trigger design, as well as a fixed A2-style butt stock and a CMMG RKM15 KeyMod handguard. The rifle weighs in at a total of 9 pounds and sells at a suggested retail price of $1,799.95.
The next step up in the Mk3 lineup is the P Model, which features an increased barrel length of 24 inches and also features a heavy taper for increased resistance to heat buildup. The rifle is also equipped with a CMMG single-stage trigger, Magpul MOE pistol grip and stock and the company's RKM15 KeyMod handguard. The total weight on the Mk3 P Model is 10.4 pounds, and the suggested retail price is $1,899.95.
The feature-rich end of the lineup starts off with the CMMG Mk3 DTR, coming equipped with a 24-inch heavy-taper barrel, along with an SV muzzle brake and CMMG's single-stage trigger. The rifle features a Magpul PRS adjustable stock, along with an MOE pistol grip. Another highlight of the gun is the inclusion of the company's new RML15 M-Lok handguard. The rifle weighs in at a total of 11.3 pounds and retails at a suggested price of $2,099.95.
Finally, the line tops out with the CMMG Mk3 DTR2. The rifle features the same 24-inch heavy barrel and M-Lok handguard found on the Mk3 DTR, along with the Magpul MOE pistol grip and PRS stock. However, in place of the CMMG single-stage trigger, consumers will find an upgraded Geissele SSA two-stage trigger. The suggested retail price on the Mk3 DTR2 is $2,274.95.
CMMG added four new rifle models to its lineup in 2017, bringing 6.5 Creedmoor to the market in the form of the high-quality Mk3 lineup.
