Brownells is once again joining forces with major industry partners to support veterans by donating five percent of its overall sales on Memorial Day 2017—May 29—to Special Operations Wounded Warriors (SOWW), a non-profit organization that provides outdoor recreational events and other support for Purple Heart recipients of the U.S. Special Forces Community.

Companies joining the effort by donating another five percent of their sales on Brownells.com include: Aero Precision, Hornady, Magpul, Timney and Wilson Combat. This is the second year of the fundraising effort.

“Special Operations Wounded Warriors is incredibly thankful for the continued generosity of Brownells,” said Joel Pellicci, vice president of SOWW. “Their financial support created through the Memorial Day fundraiser as well as other charity that they have provided throughout the years has elevated Brownells to be our top supporter for the third consecutive year. Brownells’ generous support provides us the opportunity to give thanks and therapy to deserving men and women of our U.S. Special Operations forces that have been wounded in service to our country. We are forever grateful.”

SOWW is a 501(c)(3) charity formed in August 2012 for the distinct purpose of providing outdoor experiences to a select group of both active duty and veteran U.S. Military Special Operations Forces, who have received wounds in battle, and have received our country’s prestigious Purple Heart Medal. Some of the activities to date include hog hunts, pheasant hunts, family days, a day of hot laps at the West Palm Beach International Raceway, redfish excursion, bear hunt and more.

“As civilians, it’s our duty and honor to help those who choose to wear a uniform and serve,” said Pete Brownell, CEO of Brownells. “Every branch of service, every police officer, every firefighter and first responder. Donating to SOWW is just one small way for us to say ‘Thank You’ to a very special group who sacrifice so much to defend our way of life.”

Brownells is also offering some special Memorial Day sales, just in case you need added incentive to help a worthy cause.
